They work independently rather than as employees of a specific company, offering their expertise to various clients such as contractors, builders, or property owners. Their responsibilities include reviewing project blueprints, conducting site visits, preparing detailed cost estimates, and sometimes negotiating pricing. By providing accurate estimates, they help clients budget for drywall installation or repair projects and ensure projects stay on track financially.

Familiarity with cost estimating software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or QuickBooks, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel, is commonly required. Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and time management skills help you deliver accurate bids and build client trust.
