Job Summary

The Financial Data Analyst, Strategic Analytics position is responsible for contract compliance and analysis of monthly Compass insurance premiums and fringe benefit-related expenses.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze contractual data, identify trends and provide reporting for decision making
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements and automation solutions to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve the accuracy and consistency of reporting and financial processes
  • Lead efforts to centralize data collection, maintain data accuracy, and ensure compliance with established policies in partnership with Internal Audit, Legal, and Field Operations.
  • Identify and implement procedures and controls to ensure compliance with client contracts
  • Apply critical thinking skills to make independent assessments, articulate recommendations, and defend conclusions
  • Understand data drivers to provide support and follow-up analysis to sector finance and key customers
  • Complete analysis and process journal entries at the operation and corporate level to ensure the accuracy of the P&L and balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with client and contractual insurance and benefits reconciliations
  • Maintain sensitivity to confidential HR and Benefits data
  • Assist in special projects as determined by Manager and Senior Management
  • Partner with multiple teams throughout Compass Group, including but not limited to Benefits and Compensation, Risk Management, Legal, Labor Relations, Corporate Accounting, Financial Planning, Payroll, and the various sector financial leadership teams

Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in accounting or finance required
  • 3+ years experience in accounting and analysis 
  • Strong communication skills; experience with cross-sector/corporate communication; ability to influence when no direct authority exists
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Team player with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Hyperion/Essbase, Access, Power B&I, Blackline and SQL experience is a plus
