Job description

Licensed Mental Health Therapist (1099 Independent Contractor) 

Department: Clinical Services 
Reports To: Clinical Director 
Employment Status: Independent Contractor (1099) 
Work Location: Office-Based, Eco-Based, Equine-Assisted (EAGALA Model), and Telehealth (when approved) 

Position Summary 

Liebe Cornelia Hooves to Healing LLC seeks dynamic, innovative, and compassionate licensed mental health professionals to provide evidence-based behavioral health services. Professionals deliver care through outpatient psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, and experiential modalities, including eco-based therapy, Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAGALA Model), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). 

Candidates must be adaptable, engaged, and committed to integrating innovative approaches that support healing through connections with nature, animals, and evidence-based therapeutic practices. Professionals should be comfortable working with veterans, active-duty military personnel, first responders, individuals, couples, and families. 

Compensation 

This position is classified as an Independent Contractor (1099). 

Compensation shall be based on (a) a mutually agreed-upon flat rate per client session, or (b) a mutually negotiated percentage of collected revenue generated from services provided by the therapist, as determined in writing between the parties.  

Compensation is determined individually based on: 

  • Professional licensure and credentials 
  • Clinical experience 
  • Specialized certifications 
  • Additional qualifications that enhance the organization's services 

Terms will be outlined in the Independent Contractor Agreement. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

The professional is responsible for providing mental health services, including but not limited to: 

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and clinical assessments. 
  • Develop individualized treatment plans. 
  • Provide evidence-based treatment. 
  • Conduct individual therapy sessions. 
  • Conduct family therapy sessions. 
  • Provide couples counseling. 
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions, when assigned. 
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical records. 
  • Perform crisis intervention and risk assessments, as necessary. 
  • Coordinate care with physicians, schools, case managers, and other professionals, when appropriate. 
  • Participate in case consultations and interdisciplinary collaboration. 
  • Complete treatment summaries and recommendations. 
  • Comply with all HIPAA and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements. 

Professional Responsibilities 

The professional shall: 

  • Maintain an active professional license in the State of Florida. 
  • Maintain professional liability insurance. 
  • Practice within the ethical standards established by their licensing board. 
  • Demonstrate and model professionalism. 
  • Participate in required organizational meetings and training. 
  • Maintain effective communication with administrative and clinical staff. 
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive therapeutic environment. 

Independent Contractor Responsibilities 

As an Independent Contractor, the therapist is responsible for: 

  • Managing all federal, state, and local tax obligations. 
  • Maintaining an active professional license. 
  • Maintaining professional malpractice insurance. 
  • Maintaining all required certifications. 
  • Providing services according to the agreed-upon schedule. 
  • Maintaining all equipment necessary to perform services unless otherwise provided by Liebe Cornelia Hooves to Healing LLC. 
  • Operating independently while complying with all contractual obligations and applicable laws governing independent contractor relationships. 

Scheduling 

Professionals will establish their availability in coordination with the Clinical Director. 

Professionals are expected to: 

  • Maintain a reliable schedule. 
  • Provide timely notice of cancellations or emergencies. 
  • Maintain professional communication regarding schedule changes. 

Required Qualifications 

Applicants must possess one of the following unrestricted Florida licenses: 

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) 
  • Licensed Psychologist (PhD or PsyD) 
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) 
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) 
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) 
  • Other independently licensed professional approved by the Clinical Director 

Registered interns will also be considered. 

Preferred Qualifications 

Preference will be given to candidates with experience or certification in: 

  • Trauma-informed care 
  • Working with veterans and first responders 
  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) 
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) 
  • Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) certification 
  • Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.) certification 
  • Eco-based or nature-based therapy 
  • Animal-assisted therapy

Physical Requirements 

This position may require: 

  • Sitting for extended periods during office-based sessions.

  • Working alongside horses and other animals. 

Work Environment 

Therapeutic services may be provided in: 

  • Traditional outpatient offices 
  • Outdoor therapeutic environments 
  • Equine facilities 
  • Community settings 
  • Telehealth platforms (when approved)Â
