This role offers flexibility in scheduling and pricing, but it also requires strong technical skills, business management, and customer service.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be an independent contractor auto mechanic?

To thrive as an Independent Contractor Auto Mechanic, you need strong automotive diagnostic, repair, and maintenance skills, often backed by formal training or certifications such as ASE. These skills ensure that you can efficiently deliver high-quality service while managing your own workload and business relationships.

Independent Contractor Auto Mechanics often manage a wide range of responsibilities, including diagnosing complex vehicle issues, sourcing quality parts, and handling business administration like scheduling and billing.
