Job description

Welcome to Acoufelt, LLC
Acoufelt specializes in delivering high-quality soft architectural acoustics solutions tailored to the unique needs of our clients. We work with contractors, ceiling sub-contractors, designers, and architects to provide products that enhance and transform interior workspaces. Our portfolio includes a range of premium soft architectural materials and products designed for commercial projects.
About The Role
This role will focus on creating innovative product concepts that are both visually compelling and technically feasible, with a strong understanding of how Acoufelt's products integrate into architectural finishes and physical spaces. The Architectural Product Designer will draw inspiration from diverse industries, customer feedback, and internal collaboration while bringing their own creativity and design sensibility to the process. You will use Rhino to develop accurate, detailed 3D models that will serve as the foundation for our Product Design Engineers to turn concepts into physical products.
Responsibilities
  • Design innovative products that align with Acoufelt's brand identity, performance standards, and architectural integration goals.
  • Gather and interpret inspiration from diverse industries, current design trends, and market research.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and engineering, to incorporate customer feedback and business needs into designs.
  • Develop accurate, detailed 3D models in Rhino to be used by Product Design Engineers for prototyping and production.
  • Ensure designs meet aesthetic, functional, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Work within established CAD standards and file management systems to maintain organized and accessible design data.
  • Present design concepts through visuals, renderings, and presentations for internal review and external stakeholder engagement.
  • Partner with Product Design Engineers during prototype reviews to refine designs based on testing and feedback.
  • Stay informed on material innovations, sustainability trends, and manufacturing technologies relevant to Acoufelt's products.

Required Abilities
  • 3-5 years of experience in product design, industrial design, or a related creative field.
  • Strong proficiency in Rhino 3D modeling; experience with rendering tools a plus.
  • Understanding of architectural products and how they integrate into physical spaces.
  • Demonstrated creativity and ability to translate conceptual ideas into viable product designs.
  • Strong visual communication skills, including sketching, rendering, and presentation creation.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and material selection for architectural or building products.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, particularly in file management.
  • Knowledge of sustainability principles and their application to product design a plus.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Architecture, or a related field required.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary.
  • Opportunities for professional growth within a dynamic and growing company.
  • Health, dental, and retirement benefits.
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment.
