Job description

BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION: To serve as the primary point of contact between loan personnel and third-party appraisers by efficiently managing appraisal engagements, order monitoring, error resolution, environmental pre-screens, and appraiser credential compliance across BankFirst.

DUTIES OF POSITION:

  • Appraisal Engagement: Engage and assign third-party appraisers for loan requests submitted by loan personnel, including specialized products (such as VizaLine orders over $50,000).
  • Order Monitoring & Follow-Up: Actively track pending orders and maintain direct communication with appraisers to monitor delivery deadlines and resolve report errors or missing information.
  • Environmental Risk Pre-Screens: Conduct environmental pre-screenings on qualifying new and renewed loan applications based on threshold balances, initiating Phase 1 requests when required.
  • Roster & Credential Management: Maintain the bank’s approved appraiser list and ensure all credentials, state licenses, and insurance documentation remain active and compliant.
Secondary Responsibilities / Duties (After Necessary Training)
  • Database Support: Assist in maintaining and updating the bank’s internal real estate sales comparable database.
  • Departmental Support: Perform additional administrative and operational duties related to the Appraisal Review Department as assigned.


EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS:

  • Prior banking experience with an understanding of real estate lending preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize work, multi-task, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication skills and detail orientation for proactive vendor follow-up.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Appraisal Review staff, loan personnel, and appraisers.
  • Willingness to take beginner appraiser classes as time permits.
