Job description

  • Position Summary
    • The Pelvic Floor & Continence Center NP works under the clinical supervision of the Medical Director and Physician Consultants and the administrative supervision of the Director, Telfair Ambulatory Services. The role builds upon general nurse practitioner training and skill sets by requiring specialty focus in Pelvic Floor Disorders and Incontinence with particular focus on assessment, treatment planning and management of these conditions following established guidelines and protocols. The NP maintains a case load of patients and bills appropriately for services rendered. Under the clinical supervision of the Medical Director and the Physician Consultants, the duties include appropriate ordering and performance of diagnostic work-up studies and therapies per established protocols, monitoring and evaluating progress of patients undergoing treatment and documentation sent to the referring and/or primary care providers of the care plan and progress. The NP is expected to bill appropriately and maintain all licensures and privileges to do so. The NP is required to meet all regulatory and compliance aspects of the role and to participate in quality and revenue cycle improvement activities, and performance of other duties as necessary.

    • Masters in Nursing - Required
  • Experience
    • 1 Year Gynecology, Urogynecology, or Colo-rectal - Preferred
  • License & Certification
    • Professional License with State of Practice - Required
    • AUGS Certification - Preferred
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
  • Core Job Functions
    • Conducts comprehensive holistic wellness and illness assessments and employs evidence-based clinical practice guidelines in care of patients. Provides leadership for collaborative, evidence-based revision of diagnoses and plans of care, to improve patient outcomes. Develops evidence-based clinical interventions and systems to achieve defined patient and system outcomes.
    • Appropriately assess and managers patients; accurately prepares procedure and diagnostic orders, monitors, and evaluates patient progress, promptly responding to changes in patient status. Works under the guidance of surgical oncologists.
    • Routinely attends available continuing educational programs in order to maintain competencies as an oncology nurse practitioner and stays current with advancements in oncology patient management.
    • Adheres to prescription drug or device order guidelines in any health care setting in accordance with regulations. Compliant with all standards of practitioner requirement.
    • Under the direction and guidance of the Medical Director and Consulting Physicians, evaluates and manages patients with pelvic floor disorders and incontinence. This includes ordering/performance of diagnostic testing and clinical procedures and following up with patients and their designated referring providers regarding communication of plan, compliance, and ongoing management. Works closely with physicians to design and implement evidence-based clinical pathways.
