Job Description:

  • Assists patients with bathing, showering, and personal hygiene (e.g., oral care, hair care, nail care).
  • Aids patients with dressing and undressing.
  • Assists with toileting needs, including incontinence care, bedpans, urinals, and commodes.
  • Assists patients with transfers (e.g., bed to chair, chair to toilet) using proper body mechanics and assistive devices (e.g., gait belt, lift equipment).
  • Aids with ambulation, ensuring patient safety.
  • Repositions bedridden patients regularly to prevent pressure ulcers.
  • Assists with range of motion exercises as directed.
  • Assists with keeping patient rooms clean, tidy, and organized.
  • Changes bed linens and makes beds.
  • Ensures call lights are within reach and answers them promptly.
  • Maintains adequate stock of supplies in patient rooms.
  • Adheres to infection control policies and procedures (e.g., hand hygiene, proper disposal of waste).
