Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Mississaugaย has a great opportunity for aย Machined Parts Inspector B. This position will be responsible for performing all inspection operations as required by process planning or subsidiary planning i.e. repair schemes; rectification notes etc., on details, sub-assemblies, castings & forgings.

Compensation: $35.16 / hour

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform all inspection operations as required by process planning or subsidiary planning, i.e. repair schemes, rectification notes, etc., on details, sub-assemblies, castings & forgings
  • Prepare & make presentable written documentation as required in support of work performed
  • Adhere to & comply with written inspection procedures
  • Perform operator & process audits in support of any accreditation system that may be operational
  • Inspect incoming material for quantity, product verification as per instruction operation sheets & compliance to purchase order requirements
  • Inspect outgoing material for correct packaging & document verification & approve documents where necessary
  • Transfer accrued knowledge through "on the job training"
  • Report inspection results both verbal & written in an intelligible manner

Position Requirements

  • Quality Assurance Certificate
  • Post-secondary education (i.e. Material Engineering Diploma or similar)
  • Computer skills
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9000/14000
  • 4-5 yrs related work experience
  • Work to operation sheets, blueprints, inspection method sheets, & work instructions both written & verbal
  • Requires a thorough knowledge of inspection procedures, practices & techniques
  • Use of all inspection equipment deemed necessary to satisfactory carry out job requirements
  • Basic knowledge of the use of mathematical tables
  • Satisfactorily pass the vision test requirements
  • **May be required to perform the functions of a Sheet Metal Inspector as required assuming technical ability is evident
