We're actively seeking a talented Senior Retirement Income Product Manager to join the Institutional Division in Newport Beach, CA, Omaha, NE, or Charlotte, NC.

As a Senior Retirement Income Product Manager, you'll play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by leading efforts to drive Defined Contribution Lifetime Income (DCLI) and other Institutional Retirement Income strategies, connect market needs to retirement product roadmaps and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to define and communicate the product vision, goals and roadmap based on market research and company objectives.

How you will make an impact:

Lead efforts in defining institutional lifetime income product features and necessary documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer and development of requirements across project teams. Products can include annuity and retirement solutions proprietary to Pacific Life, or in collaboration with strategic partnerships.

Collaborate with and influence various stakeholders including risk, pricing, legal, finance, sales, and operations.

Ensure effective communication and alignment on retirement product initiatives and goals in preparation for any internal approval processes.

Be viewed as the retirement product "expert" for all stakeholders across the division.

In partnership with the project management function, drive the end-to-end product implementation process, including idea generation, requirements gathering, and product design to ensure seamless implementation.

Coordinate with marketing and sales teams to plan and execute successful product launches, which includes effective product positioning, training materials and optimal sales support via product collateral and presentation deck updates. Be able to lead and/or support product training across various stakeholders.

Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends. Gather insights to guide product development strategies.

Monitor DCLI and retirement income competitive landscape broadly and create positioning and differentiators against competitors. Contribute to competitive intelligence updates.

Identify retirement market needs by leveraging insights from the sales / relationship management / strategic partnership teams.

Apply industry knowledge to drive product development strategies and identify market opportunities.

Track product performance metrics, client feedback, and market response. Continuously evaluate product success and identify opportunities for improvement and enhancement. Report out on progress to senior leadership as needed.

Partner with our Consumer Markets Division (CMD) to understand enterprise retirement product initiatives and determine areas of cross collaboration and information sharing, with the goal of creating economies of scale in the product development process.

Represent Pacific Life's Institutional Division at industry events and conferences.

The experience you will bring:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, economics, or a similar field.

Extensive knowledge of retirement solutions and annuities in the financial services industry, with a strong preference for Defined Contribution experience.

Demonstrated 10-12 years of experience in product development and/or product management in the retirement/insurance/annuity industry.

Ability to influence, partner and collaborate with divisional stakeholders.

Strong desire for collaboration and a demonstrated ability to think creatively.

What will make you stand out:

In depth knowledge of Defined Contribution plans, lifetime income product types and competitor landscape.

Desire to stay up-to-date with retirement income trends, emerging technologies and regulatory changes that impact the insurance landscape.

Experience with retirement plan advisors, plan sponsors and plan administrators.

Finance, Actuarial, and/or Quantitative background, with an ability to create proof of concepts, business cases, and understand pricing and profitability.

An agile mindset and the ability to demonstrate results in a start-up environment.

Compelling presentation skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to operate in ambiguity.

Advanced degree, certifications and/or industry licensing (MBA, CFA, ASA/FSA, or other relevant education/designation/licensing).

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$152,010.00 - $185,790.00
