In this key role, you will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care services, with an emphasis on pharmacological treatment of infectious diseases. Specific responsibilities of the Infectious Diseases Pharmacist shall be to initiate, develop, and implement utilization management programs related to use of anti-infectives; actively participate in patient care decisions regarding drug therapy for the treatment of infectious diseases; participate in the teaching and research programs of the Medical Center by providing physician, nurse, and pharmacist education regarding the principles of appropriate use of antimicrobials; actively participate in departmental and interdisciplinary committees; and act as a liaison with other departments to expedite and enforce policies and procedures related to use of antimicrobials. Complete operational and clinical projects. The ID pharmacist will be cross trained to work in centralized and decentralized Pharmacy areas as assigned by Pharmacy Management based on departmental needs.

Schedule: Varied shifts, depending on department needs, including weekends and holidays
Hourly Salary Range: $91.06-$106.67
Bargaining Unit: HX-UPTE
Qualifications
We’re seeking a dedicated clinical professional with:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
  • Active California Pharmacist license required
  • Minimum 2 years of hospital inpatient experience or completion of an ASHP-accredited residency
  • PGY2 residency training in Infectious Disease strongly preferred
  • Antimicrobial stewardship experience highly preferred
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational and follow-through skills
