Job description

Staffing Coord - SRO Summary:
  • Performs real-time staffing and allocation functions within a 24/7, 365-day operation, in collaboration with hospital nursing leadership, to ensure appropriate coverage in support of patient care delivery.
  • Supports nursing departments in the effective use of the electronic staffing and scheduling system and utilizes dashboards and staffing reports to guide scheduling practices.
  • Adjusts schedules based on operational needs by adding or reducing personnel, contacting available staff to fill open shifts, and responding to unplanned staffing needs to ensure unit care requirements are met.
  • Prepares and reviews daily, weekly, and schedule-period staffing data to support staffing forecasts, float pool alignment, and proactive decision-making.
  • Maintains accurate staffing schedules, balances schedules, prepares staffing and variance reports, and performs data entry to support the appropriate allocation of available resources.
  • Monitors staffing variances, reviews dashboards, and summarizes staffing data to provide visibility into overtime utilization, low census activity, and incentive use when applicable.
  • Maintains ongoing communication with Staffing Resource Office (SRO) team members, house supervisors, and nursing leadership to coordinate staffing resources across facilities and ensure hospital- and region-wide staffing demands are met.
  • Receives sick calls and add-on requests, manages unplanned vacancies, follows established cancellation workflows, and supports timely coverage of open shifts through effective coordination and communication.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Required Education : HS Graduate or Equivalent GED
  • Required Experience: 1 year of Clerical Experience required
