Job description

Duties This position is located in the Military Personnel Flight (MPF) with an Air National Guard (ANG) Wing, Mission Support Group, Force Support Squadron. This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. Its purpose is to provide human resources services to Title 32 (T32) Technician, Title 5 (T5), and Active Guard Reserves (AGRs). The position is a remote from the Human Resources Office (HRO) and embedded within the Military Personnel Section. The primary function of this position is to provide guidance, advise, support and clerical assistance on human resource matters to commanders, line supervisors, managers, and technicians at the base or unit organizational level and to coordinate such matters with the HRO Requirements Conditions of employment * Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. * May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. * Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. * For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. * NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is a Title 32 Technician Vacancy that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. * This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement. * Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. * Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. * Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement. * Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Qualifications THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO AREAS OF CONSIDERATION (AOC) 1 & 2 ONLY. PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO AOC 1. AOC DEFINITIONS: Area 1: Current permanent employees of the South Carolina Air National Guard. (Note-Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and will not qualify for this AOC) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Air National Guard. Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Air National Guard. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position. Military Grades: E4/SrA, E5/SSgt, TSgt/E-6 Military Requirements- The DST position's unit of assignment is determined by the applicable service manpower, classification, and military qualification requirements. In conjunction with the DST Civil Service appointment, the employee is assigned to a specific manpower authorized DST unit assignment and military position, in accordance with statutes and the US Army and US Air Force skill classification directives, and the National Guard Bureau regulations. The DST's unit of assignment position, identified as a full-time Civil Service Series (General Service or Federal Wage) position is further defined by its authorized military skill(s), as determined by the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OUSD), DoD Occupational Data Base, which is managed by the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC). This Manpower Center serves to collate personnel, manpower, training, financial, and other data for the Department of Defense (DoD). The DMDC's primary function is to support the information management needs of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (OUSD P&R) and its predecessors. For continued employment, the dual status technician employee must obtain and maintain all service specific military requirements in training and education, within the first 12 months of hire into the GS-0201 DTS position. GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Experiences gained through military or civilian technical training schools, within the human resources business programs, are included as general experience qualifications. An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS : Experiences that prepared the applicant to perform the duties of the position. The applicant's educational-degree study program or military or civilian academic courses may substitute for some specialized experience. An applicant must demonstrate the specialized experience competencies (skills, knowledge, abilities and behaviors) to qualify for a position identified by its position grade and career level. Education EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Army National Guard and Air National Guard Enlisted GS-09 through GS-12: Positions Must have a high school diploma or a general education development (GED) diploma. An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university is optimum.
