What we're looking for...

The Assistant Store Manager plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the dispensary, focusing on driving revenue growth while ensuring compliance with state regulations. This position involves supervising staff, providing exceptional customer service, and creating an atmosphere that encourages repeat business. The Assistant Store Manager will work closely with the Store Manager to implement sales strategies, and support employee growth. Additionally, this role requires a deep understanding of cannabis products to guide customers in making informed purchases, enhancing both the customer experience and store profitability.

In this role you will....

  • Assist Store Manager in planning and implementing strategies to attract and retain repeat customers.
  • Assist with all aspects of store performance with a strong focus on sales growth, operational efficiency, and profitability, while delivering a best-in-class customer service experience that drives repeat business and brand loyalty.
  • Lead by example in driving sales and delivering exceptional customer service, prioritizing the customer experience by actively engaging on the sales floor and at the register, ensuring every interaction contributes to store success.
  • Assist with tracking the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals through creating reports and analyzing data.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, assist with intakes, and communicate discrepancies to Store Manager.
  • Actively participate in management and store meetings, offering suggestions for employee development, sales opportunities, and organizational improvements.
  • Maintain visual standards, including merchandise presentation, signage, lighting, and general maintenance.
  • Assist the Store Manager with developing the store schedule to ensure proper store coverage during peak hours.
  • Handle and mitigate customer complaints in a professional manner to ensure their overall satisfaction.
  • Educate and coach store employees on product knowledge, inventory, POS, Customer Loyalty Programs, loss prevention procedures, state compliance, and safety protocols.
  • Comply with company cash handling policies and perform daily cash management responsibilities and compliance reporting per company policy.
  • Participate in the counting, pooling, and splitting of tips as assigned by management.
  • Assisting the Store Manager with interviewing, onboarding, training, and development of new and current employees.
  • Ensure all employees adhere to the company's policies and guidelines, and act as store representative when Store Manager is not present.
  • Responsible for opening and closing the store, including securing the premises, preparing registers, and conducting end-of-day reports.

Skills and experience you have...

  • 1-3 years retail management experience or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to motivate and influence others through personal actions and examples.
  • Experience with POS and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to open and close the store independently.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and adaptability by responding effectively to changing priorities.
  • Strong results-orientation and commitment to quality, performance, and deliverables.
  • Effective multi-tasker with demonstrated ability to prioritize.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills; ability to correspond in a professional, businesslike manner.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to obtain & maintain required state licenses based on work location.
