Job description

4 Ten-Hour Shifts
The RNFA is under the direct supervision and direction of the operating surgeon during the assisting phase, and until the conclusion of the operative procedure and does not concurrently function as a scrub nurse. Responsibilities include performing Staff Registered Nurse duties as required, performing preoperative and postoperative patient assessment, recognizing safety hazards and initiating appropriate corrective action, and applying principles of asepsis and infection control skillfully.
Some highlights of working as an RNFA in the Cheshire OR are: Robotic Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Total Joint Replacements, Sports Medicine Surgery. Other service lines include: GYN, General Surgery, Urology, ENT, Ortho, Podiatry.
This position offers the opportunity to have autonomy in the RNFA role, working closely with the attending surgeon.
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must have a current New Hampshire Registered Nurse license. Certification in Operating Room Nursing (CNOR) required. Completion of accredited course in RN First Assisting required. Proficiency in perioperative nursing practice as both scrub and circulating nurse for at least three years. BLS - Within 3 months of hire and maintained on a biannual basis. ACLS, CNOR required.
Compensation:
  • Minimum Pay: $48.83
  • Maximum Pay: $68.59
