Job description

Surgery Department (OR/CVOR; Operating Room) - Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Education Coordinator
We are looking for nurses with a passion for Surgical Nursing and Patient Advocacy. Our Baxter Health OR/CVOR has 13 operating rooms and averages 650 cases per month. Our cases include General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurological, Cardiovascular, Plastics, Ear Nose Throat (ENT), Urology and Gynecological (GYN) procedures. We have a highly skilled, dedicated team of patient advocates that work in an interdisciplinary team environment. New employees progress through an extensive orientation that uses the Association of Peri-operative Registered Nurses (AORN) Standards to guide our practice. All new nurses complete the AORN Peri-op 101 course, provided by the hospital, during the first six months of employment. One (1) year of AORN membership is also provided. All staff is encouraged to become active on our Unit Based Council to enable them to impact their own nursing practice and participate in our Magnet Journey to Excellence. Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Education Coordinator - Position Highlights:

Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Education Coordinator - Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a consultant/resource professional by providing staff development expertise as an educator, facilitator, change agent, leader and researcher.
  • Supports the development of hte perioperative staff and fosters excellence through new knowledge and delivery of evidence based practice.
  • Facilitates the educational process including assessment, development, planning implementation and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development.
  • Serves as a role model for professional behavior.
  • Demonstrates and promotes a team work model.
  • Understands and teaches delegation in patient care.
  • Builds professional relationships and fosters appropriate dialogue with perioperative staff regarding educational needs, requirements, and growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidence based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.

Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Education Coordinator - Job Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN required. MSN Preferred.
  • Licensure: Current Arkansas or Compact State RN License in good standing.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) year experience required.
  • Certifications: BLS required. ACLS within the first year of employment and PALS preferred. CNOR preferred or will complete certification within one (1) year of employment. CSSM preferred.
