Job description

Registered Nurse (RN) Surgery

$20,000 Sign-on Bonus with two (2) year commitment to that role. Open to external applicates who have not been previously employed by CMC in the last rolling 9 months.

Status/FTE: FT Days/ 0.9 FTE

Shift length: 12 hours

Start Time: 0630-1900 

Unit: Surgery

Schedule Requirements (including weekends, holidays): Three (3) 12-hour shifts. Weekend call coverage required on a rotating basis. Friday evening 5pm or 7pm through Sunday evening 7pm. 20-minute response time.

Required qualifications: 

  • Current state RN license
  • Associate's degree from accredited nursing school
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider upon hire
  • ACLS within three (3) months of hire
  • OR RN experience required
  • Recent experience within last five (5) years in the perioperative field
  • Complete moderate sedation course within three (3) months of hire

Preferred qualifications:

  • CNOR certification preferred
  • OR Charge Nurse experience preferred

Additional Information/Department information: The RN utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of patients from admission to the department through discharge or transfer. Provides expert care and education to patients in the perioperative setting, acts as a patient advocate, leader, and mentor for assistive personnel. The RN is knowledgeable in all surgical procedures, disease processes, interventions, and pharmacological agents. Manages patient loads in assigned timelines.
