Job description

Columbus Psychiatry Clinic is hiring a full-time Clinic Receptionist to join our front desk team and serve as the welcoming face for individuals seeking behavioral health care. This position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The successful candidate will combine professionalism, warmth, and strong organizational skills to support a friendly and efficient clinic environment.
Key responsibilities include greeting patients and visitors, answering and routing incoming phone calls, scheduling appointments and managing cancellations, verifying insurance coverage and demographic information, collecting co-pays and other payments, and maintaining accurate electronic medical records. The receptionist will also coordinate communication between clinicians and patients, confirm appointments, handle basic clerical tasks such as scanning and filing, and escalate clinical or billing issues to appropriate staff members when necessary.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting, and demonstrates empathy and confidentiality when interacting with patients who may be experiencing behavioral health concerns. A high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of receptionist, front desk, or customer service experience are required. Prior experience in healthcare or behavioral health settings is preferred. Familiarity with healthcare billing practices, insurance verification, and electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
