Required Qualifications:
Basic knowledge in the following areas: First Aid / CPR, campus streets, buildings, and parking lots, general law enforcement procedures, vehicle laws, use of firearms. New recruits - within One year of appointment
Observes situations analytically, impartially, and objectively, and to record pertinent information accurately and completely. New recruits - within One year of appointment
Demonstrated verbal and written skills and the ability to interact with a diverse community.
Able to pass medical and psychological examinations, and an extensive background investigation in compliance with California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) standards. Prior to hire.
Able to work rotating shifts in all inclement and diverse weather conditions.
Daily functions may require wearing a uniform.
No Felony convictions.
US citizen or permanent resident alien who is eligible and has applied for citizenship.
At least 21 years old at the time of hire.
Possess a valid California Driver's License and have a satisfactory driving record.
The ability to speak and write English clearly, use appropriate vocabulary to provide information, and prepare written reports.
High school diploma or equivalent certification.
Must complete a California POST Regular Basic Course (RBC) - Within one year from date of employment with UCSF.
Obtain Proof of Eligibility from POST prior to full employment
SB2 and or SB960 as noted with the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Gov. Code 1029/1031 compliant.
Maintain POST Firearms and PC 832 Arrest qualifications.
Preferred Requirements:
Knowledge of local, State, Federal, and University of CA laws, rules, and regulations as applicable to the police function, and basic law enforcement terminology and concepts.
