WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The successful energetic candidate will join the Technology team to provide technical systems management and business analysis for Futures, Clearing and Electronic trading applications with exposure to additional asset classes. At RBC Capital Markets, our goal is to design, build and operate state-of-the-art clearing and electronic trading technology (processes, software and infrastructure) to provide our clients with a competitive advantage within our markets.
In this role, the candidate will develop a strong understanding of leading Futures/FX and Electronic Trading platforms and how our investment firm captures, manages, margins and clears trades with the world's largest exchanges.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Manage the interaction with our external vendors (such as Fidessa, Born Technology, TT, CQG, Bloomberg and various OMS/EMS providers)
  • Internal relationships with IT, Compliance, and Operations as it relates to electronic trading plat forms and connectivity.
  • Manage and provide daily front line support to traders and clients.
  • Technical Leadership and Analysis, Planning, Implementation, System Management, and IT escalation.
  • Build a strong relationship with all business partners to help them succeed with our solutions as well as effectively represent their requirements in further evolving our technology ecosystem.
  • Document operational processes for end user training and manage the Production knowledgebase - Manage outages, proactive communication and problem management through to resolution. Tracking of Post Mortems, bug fixes, enhancements etc. for Futures/FX.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

Technical/Systems Knowledge

  • Strong preference to candidate experienced with Fidessa, Trading Technologies, CQG, Bloomberg Tradebook, ITRS Geneos and EMSX trading applications and architecture.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working within fast-paced trading environments (trading pits, off-pit trading floors, or similar).
  • Experience entering electronic orders in Futures markets.
  • Knowledge of the financial industry, particularly in the trading divisions of banks or brokerage houses would be an asset.
  • General familiarity with exchanged traded products, e.g., Fixed Income, FX, Cash Treasuries, Options, Futures, etc. is also desired.
  • Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering Degree (or equivalent), Business & Science.

Nice-to-have:

Licensing

  • Current Series 3 registration, or the ability to obtain within 6 months.

The expected salary range for the above position is $100,000 - $145,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
