Job description

Job Title: Quality Assurance SpecialistJob Description
As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for calibrating inspection tools and equipment, ensuring compliance through internal audits and leading customer and third-party audits. You will process customer complaints and warranty claims, assist production in handling non-conforming products, and support the Quality Manager in developing Standard Operating Procedures. Additionally, you will prepare and assist with PPAP documentation, schedule and organize Management Review meetings, monitor quality systems, and initiate corrective actions using structured problem-solving methods.
Responsibilities
  • Calibrate inspection tools and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance through internal audits and lead customer and third-party audits.
  • Process customer complaints and warranty claims.
  • Assist production in handling non-conforming products.
  • Support the Quality Manager in developing Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Prepare and assist with PPAP documentation and submissions.
  • Schedule and organize Management Review meetings.
  • Monitor and maintain quality systems and statistical programs.
  • Initiate corrective and preventative actions using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Assist in employee training and personnel qualifications.
  • Resolve supplier quality issues and participate in contract reviews.
  • Assist in inspection activities and release customer orders.
  • Organize and control technical documentation, including blueprints and databases.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in quality assurance and inspection.
  • Must have experience working with ISO standards.
  • Experience with 3rd party and customer audits.
  • Experience with suppliers and handling non-conforming products.
  • Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis and investigations.
  • Ability to explain precision measuring tools.
  • Experience in implementing quality processes and leading teams.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, GD&T, blueprint reading, and welding.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Knowledge of welding and allied processes is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of tools and measuring equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Internal Auditing and Quality Assurance training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and understand GD&T.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with little supervision.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position involving both office and shop floor environments, where personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. You will be exposed to loud noises and will work primarily between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm. The main location is in Bettendorf, with some travel to Orion.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bettendorf, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $31.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
