Please Note: As part of the Administrative Team at Mahou USA, this role is based in Grand Rapids, MI working out of the offices at Founders Brewing Co.
SUMMARY
Contributes to earned media and communications including public relations, website and app content, as well as select social media.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Collaborates with Director of Corporate Communications & Public Relations on strategic communications and public relations planning, owning and executing elements as assigned by Director.
  • Writes and/or provides direction on the creation and execution of internal and external communications materials, including press releases, newsletters, wholesaler communications, presentations, blog posts, social media posts, etc. Maintains high standard of quality and consistency of both voice and design in all print and digital materials.
  • Assists in managing external PR firm relationship, liaising on key initiatives, tracking KPIs, and executing priority projects.
  • Liaises with marketing department and taproom on public relations and social media initiatives.
  • Provides communications support to organizational departments and committees as needed.
  • Works with Director of Corporate Communications & Public Relations on planning and execution for corporate communications initiatives.
  • Manages incoming media requests from local and industry journalists. Attends events as needed.
  • Manages special projects as assigned.
  • Manages community relations requests, partnerships and acts as a ERG liaison to Communications.
  • Be an active participant in the Founders culture, living our principles and inspiring others to do the same.
  • Consistently identify opportunities for organizational improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of working in PR & communications at a company or agency
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication - very strong presentation development skills required
  • Light graphic design skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Demonstrable experience in seeding campaigns
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
  • Creative, decisive, collaborative, responsive, able to work independently and take responsibility for decisions and outcomes
  • Internal communications experience preferred
  • Spanish language skills are an asset, but not required
