Job description

2nd shift Production Set-Up Technician / DIrect Hire
Hourly Pay: $20-$23.50
Hours: 3:15pm-3:15am M-Th (if OT is needed, 4 hours on Friday)
Location: Lincolnton
Industry: MFG

ProStaffing is currently recruiting for a Production Set-Up Technician for a manufacturing company in the area. This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable working with production equipment, completing machine set-ups, troubleshooting issues, and keeping production running safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Assist with machine and die set-ups, including die changes and knife installation/adjustments
  • Help troubleshoot production equipment and resolve line issues
  • Complete routine equipment inspections and lubrication
  • Move raw materials and finished product as needed
  • Coordinate material movement and storage with Material Handlers
  • Review work orders and make sure the correct material, processing, packaging, and customer specifications are followed
  • Record material weights, coil information, production quantities, and labor accurately
  • Perform pre-run and in-process quality inspections
  • Complete production paperwork, inspection sheets, move tags, and coil tags
  • Verify the correct dies, cams, and tooling are available for each job
  • Follow all required safety procedures, including LOTO and PPE requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Forklift certification
  • Experience setting up and operating High Speed and/or General Fabrication Expanders
  • Understanding of ISO procedures and manufacturing work instructions
  • Ability to identify and select materials based on type and gauge
  • Comfortable using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures
  • Ability to take required production measurements, including thickness and dimensional measurements
  • Good communication skills and ability to work closely with production team members and supervisors
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift and lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance
Ideal Candidate: Someone with a strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands-on manufacturing work, understands the importance of quality and safety, and is willing to jump in wherever needed to keep production moving.
