Job description

We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector to perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections in a manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on inspection experience who can read engineering drawings and accurately inspect parts using precision measuring equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products for compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, thread gauges, plug gauges, and other measuring equipment.
  • Perform incoming inspections using established AQL sampling criteria.
  • Identify, document, segregate, and report nonconforming or suspect material.
  • Verify production is working from the correct work orders, SOPs, and drawing revisions.
  • Complete inspection reports, quality records, rework/scrap documentation, and related quality-system records.
  • Inspect customer returns/RMAs and assist with corrective-action documentation.
  • Work closely with production to communicate quality issues and required corrections.
  • Support internal and external quality audits as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • 1+ year of Quality Control/Inspection experience or equivalent relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/engineering drawings.
  • Hands-on experience using calipers and micrometers.
  • Experience with additional inspection equipment such as optical comparators, thread gauges, and plug gauges is preferred.
  • Ability to understand dimensions and tolerances and accurately measure manufactured parts.
