What this job involves - The Project Coordinator - Lab Moves at JLL is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of laboratory relocation and lab equipment moves. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and vendors. The Project Coordinator - Lab Moves will assist in project management tasks, ensure project timelines are met, and contribute to the successful relocation of laboratory facilities.

Daily local travel between buildings in the bay area. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

What is your day-to-day?

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of laboratory relocation and lab equipment moves.
  • Collaborate with project managers, scientists, researchers, and facility managers to establish project requirements and objectives.
  • Develop detailed relocation plans, including schedules, logistics, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and specialized moving companies to facilitate lab equipment transportation and installation.
  • Assist in the inventory and cataloging of laboratory equipment, ensuring proper documentation and labeling.
  • Conduct site visits to assess the current and future lab spaces, identifying potential obstacles and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Assist in managing project budgets, tracking costs, and providing updates on project financials.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including move plans, equipment lists, and communication logs.
  • Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders, including lab staff, facility managers, and IT teams, to ensure a smooth transition during the move.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to handle equipment disconnection, reconnection, and testing during the relocation process.
  • Assist in the coordination of facility preparations for laboratory moves, including utilities setup, furniture installation, and safety measures.
  • Support in managing project risks and resolving any issues or concerns that arise during the relocation process.
  • Provide assistance and support to lab staff in navigating the transition and settling into the new laboratory space.
  • Ensure compliance with project schedules, timelines, and quality standards for laboratory moves.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Facilities Management or Science discipline.
  • Proven experience in project coordination or lab moves, preferably in a laboratory or scientific research environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet).
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment handling, transportation, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety guidelines, protocols, and regulatory requirements is preferred.

Estimated compensation for this position:

71,900.00 - 94,580.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
