Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of L&D/postpartum experience and NRP certification.

Details
  • Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a small critical access hospital averaging 10-15 births per month
  • Care for both mother and baby across labor, delivery, postpartum, and C-section recovery
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
  • Mostly weekday nights (Monday-Thursday)
  • Required to work every third weekend
  • Must be available to work 10/30, 10/31, 11/1, and 11/13
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
Requirements
  • Active WI or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of labor, delivery, and postpartum experience required
  • BLS and NRP certifications required
  • Epic charting system experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Proficient in antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and use of external fetal monitoring (EFM)
  • Experience with cesarean section recovery and multiple births
  • Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages
  • Administer medications including antihypertensives, antiseizure drugs, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, and pitocin
  • Perform newborn care duties including cord care, newborn assessments, phototherapy, and discharge teaching to parents
  • Manage postpartum complications such as bladder distension, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
  • Provide pain management support including epidural anesthesia and opioid administration
  • Support breastfeeding and lactation for postpartum patients
  • Scrubs provided
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Candidates residing within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and will not be accepted for this position
  • Clinicians cannot work more than 1 year as a traveler without taking a 6-month break before returning
