Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience, a compact or CO RN license, and prior travel nursing experience.

Details
  • Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital environment
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30, various days of the week
  • Patient ratio of 1:2 for labor patients, up to 4:1 for antepartum or postpartum patients
  • Epic charting system required
  • Weekend shifts required per unit needs
  • On-call responsibilities required per unit needs
  • Floating required to other units within the service line
  • May be required to float to a sister facility (Memorial Hospital North)
Requirements
  • Active RN license (Compact or Colorado state license) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM (AWHONN Advanced and C-EFM preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Trauma Level II hospital experience required (Trauma Level I preferred)
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Skilled in labor and delivery management including vaginal delivery assistance, high-risk delivery support, and C-section circulation
  • Experience with fetal monitoring including EFM and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Experience caring for high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and placenta previa
Additional Information
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
  • Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries including forceps/vacuum extraction when needed
  • Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as part of labor management
  • Provide newborn care including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and discharge teaching to parents
  • Support postpartum recovery including fundus/lochia/perineum care and breastfeeding support
  • Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract
  • RTO is restricted during specific blackout periods including early September, late October through early November, late November through early December, and late December through early January
  • Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility may be eligible for local rate
  • Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates must disclose this for eligibility review
  • Return travelers who completed a full year on assignment may not be rebooked for at least one year
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Completion of facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment
