Job Description

NBCUniversal’s Owned Television station in the KULX Telemundo Salt Lake City area, KULX, is looking for a skilled Multiplatform Producer to join our award-winning team. The Multiplatform Producer will be responsible for successfully creating content and helping take our digital, social media, streaming content and newscasts to a new level.

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about news, loves breaking news and has a creative vision for crafting live programs. You’ll work closely with managers to create innovative, up-to-the-minute content that resonates with our audiences no matter what platform they are on.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow all Telemundo Utah News and NBC standards and ethics.
  • Create daily digital content using a variety of sources for multiplatform distribution – Website, App, social media, Fast channel, OTT and linear.
  • Work with the news desk and producers to publish and follow breaking news, including sending push alerts.
  • Monitor a variety of video sources to identify content that would appeal to our audiences.
  • Support reporters and talent with the creation of original digital content.
  • Contribute to the creation of videos series for OTT, FAST and all platforms.
  • Fill in on the assignment desk as needed.
  • Fill as news producer as needed, and responsible for multiple newscast production, content, and elements of the shows.
  • Select, assign, write, and organize news stories. Write news scripts, headlines, teases and topicals.
  • Stay on the cutting-edge of digital multimedia trends and innovation.
  • Consistently show a solid news judgment.
  • Stay up to date with local and national news stories.
  • Be a problem solver who can make decisions under stress and tight deadlines. 
  • Translate content between English and Spanish when needed.
  • Coordinate and monitor the streaming of live events and newscasts on our platforms.
  • Understand newscast mission, station priorities and be familiar with all the platforms.
Qualifications

Qualifications / Eligibility Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or media communication.
  • Minimum 2 years producer experience.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in Spanish and must be able to speak, read and understand English.
  • 1 year experience with writing and/or editing and/or producing daily video products.
  • Must be available to work overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or required.
  • Must have a flexible schedule with ability to work multiple shifts and willingness to travel and work long hours and on weekends and holidays with short notice.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be 18 years or greater.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • This position is required to be performed full-time from Telemundo Utah.
  • Must be willing to work in Salt Lake City, Utah.
  • Must accept Solutions as NBCUniversal’s Dispute Resolution program.
  • Must be able to carry or lift 25 lbs.
