What is an in home sitter?

In Home Sitters are individuals who provide care and supervision for people—often children, the elderly, or pets—in the client’s own home. Their responsibilities may include ensuring safety, providing companionship, preparing meals, assisting with daily activities, and light housekeeping. In Home Sitters help maintain routines and comfort for those needing care while allowing them to remain in familiar surroundings. They may work part-time or full-time, depending on the family’s needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an in home sitter, and why are they important?

To thrive as an In Home Sitter, you need basic caregiving skills, reliability, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with safety protocols, first aid/CPR certification, and sometimes scheduling or monitoring apps are typically required.
