When California's Charter School Law passed in 1993, Options For Youth became the first sanctioned charter school in California. We believe the student-teacher relationship is critical to developing a young person's social, emotional, and academic well-being. Our ideal candidate will:
  • Deliver our educational program to ensure data-driven, results-based instruction for students in the implementation of the Common Core Standards. Teachers will be available to provide direct instruction to students 6 hours a day.
  • Teach for mastery of the Common Core Standards and is knowledgeable in Single-Subject content areas and lesson plans a differentiated curriculum to ensure student success.
  • Use assessments and data to influence instruction for student success and keep grade, attendance, and retention records.
  • Provide targeted interventions for special education students and English Language Learners.
  • Participate in various community groups or functions, faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops and assist with state-mandated student testing.
  • Meet with students and parents to discuss student progress and problems.

You'll need the following minimum requirements:
  • BA/BS Degree
  • CA Preliminary or Clear single-subject teaching credential with English Language Authorization (ELA) required

Salary Range:
$73,000 - $105,000 - Depending on Experience
$73,000 - $85,000 Intern range
