Job description

Joliet Staffing is hiring a Freezer Off Loader for a busy food distribution center in Minooka, IL. This position is responsible for safely unloading products in a freezer environment, organizing inventory, and ensuring products are accurately staged for warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in cold temperatures.


Location: Minooka, IL

Pay: $17.00/hour

Shift: 3rd Shift


Essential Responsibilities
  • Unload pallets, boxes, and frozen food products from trailers and containers.
  • Verify incoming shipments for accuracy and report any shortages or damages.
  • Stage and organize products in designated freezer storage locations.
  • Move materials safely using pallet jacks or other warehouse equipment as needed.
  • Stack, wrap, and prepare pallets for storage or distribution.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and assist with stock rotation (FIFO).
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and warehouse safety procedures.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while working in freezer conditions.
  • Work efficiently to meet productivity goals while maintaining quality standards.
  • Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Previous warehouse, distribution center, or freezer experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a cold freezer environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, reaching, and performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Work in cold temperatures while wearing appropriate freezer PPE.
  • Bend, stoop, twist, and reach throughout the workday.
