Job description

FILM 119: Introduction to Video Production
Mary Baldwin University invites applications for an adjunct professor to teach Introduction to Video Production beginning August 24, 2026. The department is seeking an individual with a strong commitment to inclusive pedagogies as well as enthusiasm for the environment of a small student-centered university. The successful candidate will be able to teach a hands-on introduction to video production in which students learn camera operation and composition, nonlinear editing using Final Cut Pro, and audio fundamentals. Projects span a range of forms - narrative filmmaking, documentary, experimental work, broadcast formats, and video blogging - giving students both technical grounding and creative range.
Qualifications
  • MA or MFA, or 18 graduate credit hours in Film Studies, Media Production, Communication, or a closely related field. Relevant backgrounds may include Digital Media, Broadcast Journalism, or other fields with substantive training in video production and post-production
  • Professional experience in video production may be considered in combination with graduate coursework
  • Teaching experience is preferred
