Client Overview
Our client is a global organization seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to support U.S. and international payroll operations. This role will work closely with the Global Payroll Director and cross-functional HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing.
Salary/Hourly Rate
$38/hr - $42/hr
Position Overview
The Payroll Analyst will serve as a key individual contributor responsible for end-to-end processing of biweekly U.S. payroll for more than 3,000 employees utilizing Workday. This position requires a high degree of payroll expertise, independence, accuracy, and knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations. In addition to U.S. payroll responsibilities, the Payroll Analyst will provide backup support for payroll processing in Canada, Mexico, and Costa Rica to help ensure continuity of global payroll operations.
Responsibilities Of The Payroll Analyst
  • Process accurate and timely biweekly multi-state payroll for 3,000+ employees using Workday from start to finish.
  • Audit payroll data, including hours, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and tax withholdings prior to payroll transmission.
  • Reconcile payroll data prior to transmission and validate reports following payroll completion.
  • Process off-cycle payrolls related to terminations, corrections, bonuses, and other adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of payroll taxation and compliance requirements.
  • Administer garnishments, liens, and other mandatory payroll deductions.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 reconciliation and distribution.
  • Research, analyze, and resolve complex payroll discrepancies and issues.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide a high level of customer service.
  • Handle confidential employee and payroll information with discretion.
  • Partner closely with HR and Finance to ensure employee data integrity related to new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and employee records.
  • Serve as backup support for payroll processing in Canada, Mexico, and Costa Rica.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and efficiencies.
  • Maintain and update payroll procedures and process documentation.
Required Experience/Skills For The Payroll Analyst
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
  • Extensive experience with Workday Payroll.
  • Strong experience processing multi-state payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll taxation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience conducting payroll audits and reconciliations.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve complex payroll issues.
  • Ability to independently manage payroll responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Ability to work onsite in Acton approximately 3 days per week.
Preferred Experience/Skills For The Payroll Analyst
  • Experience supporting payroll operations in Canada, Mexico, and/or Costa Rica.
  • Experience working within a global organization.
  • FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification).
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
