Job description

Basic Purpose:
The Accounting Technician will perform various assigned duties within the accounting department. The position will report to the Controller.
Job Accountabilities:
  • Reviews accounts payable invoices and enters in the system for payment.
  • Enters vendor information into accounting software system; verifies that invoice information is entered correctly.
  • Issues payments to vendors as approved.
  • Processes routine monthly payments as approved.
  • Answers vendor questions by researching accounts.
  • Generates monthly reports for management.
  • Processes bank deposits.
  • Call customers requesting payment on past due notices.
  • Works with customers to reconcile account issues.
  • Post accounts receivable payments.
  • Make general ledger journal entries.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to type fast is a plus.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Excel.

Education and Experience:
  • 2-year degree required, or 2 years of accounting related work experience required.
