Job Title: Accounting Clerk

General Purpose and Scope (Summary):

The Accounting Clerk provides essential support to the accounting team by performing routine financial tasks, including processing transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with reconciliations. This role is critical for ensuring compliance with mortgage industry regulations and internal controls.

Responsibilities / Functions:

  • Research incoming inquiries and properly post to the applicable ledger account
  • Enter and analyze incoming loan related receivables and payables for entry into accounting software
  • Ability to research and respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner
  • Reach out to customers and third parties regarding stale payments
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external parties to obtain W9’s, invoices, and other necessary backup for entry and compliance requirements
  • Provide other accounting support as needed

  • General knowledge of the mortgage industry and/or general accounting knowledge preferable

Education and Experience:

  • 0-2 years in accounting or mortgage experience

Certifications, Licenses, etc.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

Hours for position:

M-F 9am-5pm

This position may require frequent additional hours, at times on a daily basis; must be available to work additional hours on short notice as determined by management to meet borrower service level agreements.
