International Motor Sports Association (IMSA):
The International Motor Sports Association, LLC (IMSA) was originally founded in 1969 and owns a long and rich history in sports car racing. Today, IMSA is the sanctioning body of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the premier sports car racing series in North America. IMSA also sanctions the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge and Historic Sportscar Racing, as well as five one-make series: Ferrari Challenge North America, Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, Mazda MX-5 Cup, Mustang Challenge and Porsche Carrera Cup North America. IMSA - a company within the NASCAR family - is the exclusive strategic partner in North America with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) which operates the 24 Hours of Le Mans as a part of the FIA World Endurance Championship. The partnership enables selected IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competitors to earn automatic entries into the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans. IMSA seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Part-Time, Medical Liaison.
This position will travel to each track location to support events.
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Upon arrival at Event, work with Manager, Medical Liaison to ensure the promoter's compliance with the Medical Minimum Standard per the IMSA Sanction Agreement.
  • Act as a liaison between the medical personnel providing medical care for the participants and IMSA upper management, in compliance with HIPAA. Report and relay information within designated timeframes. Closes gaps in communication and escalates issues at appropriate time and through appropriate channels.
  • Maintains and ensures accuracy of databases and assists with record, tracking, and providing patient data to treating physician. Completes reports in accordance HIPAA and applicable policy and procedures.
  • Establish a consistent rapport with IMSA staff, participants and promoters. Act as a resource for medical guidance at Events while being HIPAA compliant.
  • Serves as primary resource to facilitate and coordinate lodging and travel accommodations for a participant's family at Events.
  • Establishes a service of excellence through high customer satisfaction by displaying attentive, tactful and diplomatic response to others.
  • Assist in office prior to the start of the season, as needed.
  • 100% travel required, including weekends.

Required skills / experience:
  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and a minimum of two (2) years related nursing experience in critical care of emergency/trauma and/or training.
  • A demonstrated understanding of MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and use of the Internet. Excellent computer skills including data entry (alpha & numeric), accuracy, solid PC skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. This individual must be able to extract, convey and understand accurate information from agreements and related documents.
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Ability to build strong cross function partnerships to resolve issues with all internal IMSA departments.
  • Identify problems when/before they occur and quickly contact the best IMSA representative to rectify the situation.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality, particularly surrounding sensitive and high-profile issues.
  • Crosstrain with other areas to be able to assist when needed.
  • Excellent customer service skills, friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and diffuse volatile situations.
  • Experience with printers, copiers and office equipment.
  • Willingness to travel, at times extended and on weekends.
  • Ability to walk around Event facilities, up and down stairs and on uneven surfaces and for long distances
  • Ability to stand for entire shift (generally 6-8 hours but could be extended due to the nature of the business)
  • Must be comfortable working in large crowds and with high noise levels
  • Must be able to work indoor and outdoor - may be exposed to all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
