McAlister Institute is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Incidental Medical Services (IMS) Coordinator to join our team. Reporting directly to the IMS Program Lead, the IMS Coordinator plays a vital role in providing supportive services to clients and staff within Incidental Medical Services (IMS), Withdrawal Management (WM), and residential programs. This position focuses on comprehensive care coordination, including facilitating access to housing, medical, educational, vocational, and other community-based services. The role places particular emphasis on supporting individuals with chronic substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and promote the mission, philosophy, values, and direction of McAlister Institute.
  • Facilitate IMS services, including care coordination and administrative support such as client scheduling, visits, and lab work.
  • Assist in medication management: delivery/pickup, inspection, eMAR entry, and storage.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, case conferences, and coordinate client care with the health care practitioner (HCP).
  • Educate clients and families on fentanyl risks and distribute Naloxone kits.
  • Assist clients with accessing community services, including housing, medical care, and mental health resources.
  • Facilitate ASAM level-of-care transitions and MAT client vitals monitoring.
  • Offer comprehensive education to IMS clients, helping them understand treatment benefits, risks, and alternatives.
Requirements:
  • Certified/registered alcohol and drug counselor in compliance with DHCS standards.
  • Licensed and/or license eligible with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Minimum of 2 years of behavioral health experience.
  • Proven ability to work across multiple systems, such as Probation, CWS, DDC, criminal justice, etc.
  • Strong knowledge and relationships with community resources.
  • Proficiency in maintaining up-to-date records and documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings, including education verification, a criminal background check with at least one year clear of probation or parole, a drug test, and a TB test.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
