Job description

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans (PLCY), Trade and Economic Security (TES).
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.Qualifications:Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing duties such as:

(1) Analyzing and evaluating major aspects of substantive trade policy and operations.

(2) Developing short, medium, and long-range program goals, plans, objectives, and policies linked to international trade, customs, or other related initiatives.

(3) Identifying and developing policies that resolve problems or cope with issues that directly affect the accomplishment of the program goals and objectives; and

(4) Advising on complex issues to address economic security and national security risks to trade or investment, including through use of various trade enforcement authorities, import restrictions, or the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States.


Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
