Position Summary

As a member of the trade compliance team (Corporate Counsel Dept.), the Import Specialist is responsible for supporting the trade compliance function within the trade compliance team focusing on imports. This includes the daily support for import shipments by support of broker requests, assigning HTS codes, daily file audit and review, and working with other company departments to facilitate the import activities of the company. Also supporting FTZ operations and C-TPAT compliance.

Role and Responsibilities

Here's What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • ResearchandrespondtoCustomsrequestsforinformationinatimelymannerasprescribedbyregulation.

  • ResearchandclassifynewpartsforimportsaccordingtotheHTSUS(HarmonizedTariffSystemoftheUS).

  • Assistinriskassessmentreviewsincludingquarterlyinternalassessmentsforimports.

  • AssistwiththeannualpreparationanddistributionofC-TPATsupplychainsecurityletterstosuppliersandserviceproviders.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

  • 5-12yearsofexperienceworkinginimportoperationsandcompliancewithanimporter,customsbroker.

  • KnowledgeofCustomsRegulationsespecially19CFR146.Importcomplianceandregulations.Workingknowledgeand.PCskillsincludingOutlook,Excel,andindustryrelatedwebsites(CROSS,FDA,APHIS,USHTS,etc.).HarmonizedTariffSchedule(HTS)Classifications.Auditingprinciples.

The current base salary range for this role is between $65,000 - $107,500. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

At Samsung Austin Semiconductor, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package. The base compensation for this role will depend on education, experience, skills, and location.
