Location: Littel Ferry, NJ

Compensation: $65,000

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Import / Export Coordinator to support international freight forwarding and logistics operations. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for coordinating import and export shipments, preparing and managing shipping documentation, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

The ideal candidate will have previous Import and Export experience working for an NVOCC and a strong understanding of international freight forwarding operations.

Key Responsibilities Import & Export Operations
  • Coordinate international import and export shipments from initiation through completion.
  • Manage day-to-day import and export activities and ensure shipments are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with customers, carriers, freight partners, and other parties involved in the movement of cargo.
  • Monitor shipments and proactively address delays, documentation issues, or other operational concerns.
  • Support efficient cargo processing while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Prepare, review, and maintain required import and export documentation.
  • Ensure shipping documents are complete, accurate, and processed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable import/export regulations and company procedures.
  • Maintain organized and accurate shipment records and documentation.
  • Identify and resolve documentation discrepancies or compliance-related issues.
Customer Service
  • Serve as a point of contact for customers regarding shipment status, documentation, and operational questions.
  • Provide timely and professional communication throughout the shipment process.
  • Coordinate internally and externally to resolve customer requests and shipment issues.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous Import and Export experience working for an NVOCC.
  • Strong knowledge of Import and Export operations.
  • Experience preparing and managing export documentation.
  • Previous experience coordinating international shipments.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
