Primary Function
Under general supervision, sets up, adjusts and operates surveying instruments in securing basic engineering data for location or construction of canals, drains, power lines and related facilities and performs civil construction inspections. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school equivalency, including or supplemented by courses in algebra, geometry and trigonometry, and three years of increasingly responsible field surveying experience.
Licensing & Certification Requirements
Land Surveyor in Training Certificate for the state of California desired.
Veteran's Preference (External Applicants Only): Submit DD form 214 or other evidence of veterans' status by the job posting deadline.
Other Requirements/Testing
A negative drug test is required as a condition of employment.
