Are you a natural matchmaker who loves seeing people succeed? As a Career Services Advisor at our Tucson campus, you are the vital link between Pima Medical Institute and the local healthcare community. Your mission is two-fold: facilitating high-quality externship placements for our certificate students and assisting all graduates in securing professional medical employment. This is a fast-paced, consultative role that combines sales, recruitment, and student mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
Externship & Employment Placement
  • Market Development: Proactively acquire new externship sites through cold calling, direct telephone sales, networking via professional associations, and leveraging alumni/faculty connections.
  • Student Matchmaking: Pair students with the optimum externship site based on skills/assessment checklists and instructor input.
  • Placement Coordination: Coordinate externship interviews and complete site assignments directly with site supervisors.
  • Clinical Monitoring: Conduct site visits to monitor student progress, facilitate midterm and final evaluations, and oversee required actions to overcome challenges.
  • Career Coaching: Conduct workshops on resume and cover letter writing, networking, interviewing techniques, and soft skills improvement.
  • Graduate Support: Advise not-yet-placed graduates on optimizing job search activities and maintaining lists of available job openings.

Administrative & Compliance
  • Documentation Audit: Ensure all requisite documentation (background checks, CPR/OSHA/HIPAA certifications, immunizations, etc.) is complete before placement.
  • Data Integrity: Record student attendance, telephone call logs, and marketing efforts daily within Campus Nexus.
  • Reporting: Generate placement reports from Campus Nexus to monitor student outcomes and detail results versus goals.
  • Institutional Governance: Participate in Advisory Board meetings, sharing statistical data regarding retention and placement.

Who You Are
  • A Relationship Builder: You thrive on building relationships and collaborating with both internal staff and external employers.
  • Communication Expert: You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively support students and graduates.
  • Ethical & Culturally Competent: You provide inclusive support while maintaining high ethical standards in decision-making.
  • Detail-Oriented: You take pride in maintaining an accurate database and ensuring all files are compiled for student exit interviews.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience: At least two (2) years of recruitment or staffing experience.
  • Education: Associate degree preferred, Highschool Diploma required.
  • Technical Skills: Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and video-conferencing tools.
  • Equivalency: Any equivalent combination of training, education, or experience that meets the minimum qualifications will be considered.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly Pay: $20.80 - $24.96 per hour.
  • Ownership: Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)-become a partial owner of the company!
  • Retirement: 401(k) Plan with a 10% Employer Match.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.
  • Time Off: Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays.
