Manufacturing Quality Manager

Onsite role in Rhode Island


A growing global manufacturer is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality operations at its Rhode Island facility while partnering closely with quality teams across North America, Europe, and Asia. This role offers a unique opportunity for a hands-on quality leader who wants to make an immediate impact while building toward increased strategic and organizational responsibility. The successful candidate will oversee the local quality team, drive customer satisfaction and operational excellence initiatives, and collaborate extensively with international quality and manufacturing leaders.


Reporting directly to senior plant leadership with regular interaction at the executive level, this position is well-suited for a leader who can influence across functions, lead teams, and drive continuous improvement in a global manufacturing environment.


Quality Leadership

  • Lead all quality-related activities for the Rhode Island manufacturing operation.
  • Manage and develop a team of quality professionals while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as the primary quality representative for customers, internal stakeholders, and external auditors.
  • Partner closely with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and leadership teams to ensure quality objectives are achieved.

Quality Management Systems

  • Maintain and improve the organization's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, customer requirements, and internal procedures.
  • Lead internal and external audits, corrective action programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions to improve quality performance.

Customer & Supplier Quality

  • Oversee customer quality performance, complaint resolution, and corrective action processes.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts utilizing structured methodologies such as 8D and root cause analysis.
  • Monitor customer scorecards and quality metrics while implementing improvement plans where needed.
  • Partner with suppliers and supply chain teams to improve supplier quality and performance.

Operational Excellence

  • Monitor manufacturing quality metrics including defects, scrap, rework, yield, and overall quality performance.
  • Utilize data-driven decision making and quality tools to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to improve processes, reduce risk, and enhance product quality.
  • Support new product introductions, process improvements, and operational initiatives.

Global Collaboration

  • Work closely with quality and operational teams located across multiple international regions.
  • Share best practices and drive consistency across global quality standards and processes.
  • Support cross-site initiatives and contribute to broader organizational quality objectives.



Qualifications

  • 10+ years of quality experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams, projects, or quality functions.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, auditing, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate internationally.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing or other highly regulated, quality-driven manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of quality standards.
  • Exposure to multi-site or global manufacturing operations.
