FLEET FACILITATORS

  • Facilitate science demonstrations/activities/with visitors
  • Answer basic exhibit usage questions
  • Monitor guest behavior for safety and proper exhibit usage
  • Assist with Studio X and Tesla Coil if necessary
  • Help greet visitors and groups, answering questions and informing them of special events and rules.
  • Assist with Studio X and IMAX show when needed
  • Monitor guest behavior for safety and proper exhibit usage
  • Be knowledgeable of safety and emergency procedures
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER
  • Energetic, outgoing and friendly, with enthusiasm and interest in the Fleet Science Center
  • Strong desire to interact with the public and assist guests from diverse backgrounds, being courteous, professional, patient and respectful at all times
  • Able to succeed in a sometimes crowded, noisy environment
  • Comfortable working independently, as well as within a team environment
  • Present a professional appearance
  • Excellent communication skills and can act with diplomacy and tact
  • Comfortable with public speaking, or interest in gaining this skill

TIME COMMITMENT: Museum Ambassadors are asked for a minimum service commitment of 2 shifts per month for at least three months. Additionally, they must attend Volunteer Orientation.
