CONOPS Engineer/System Engineer
Gromelski and Associates, Inc. (GAI) partners with prime contractors to provide professional services. Key service areas include Engineering Design and Documentation; Software Development and Testing; System Integration, Testing and Evaluation; Lab Management and Field Installation; Integrated Logistics Support, Training Development and Delivery, Multimedia Support, and Technical System Support.
CONOPS Engineer/System Engineer Job Description:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system products to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
As part of the Systems Engineering team, working with the CONOPS lead to ensure that the products and capabilities specified for development meet the needs of the sailor. In addition, being part of the Testing/certification environment ensuring that the developed products meet the requirements and the intended use on board the submarine. May require dockside support for installing new capabilities and some at sea testing support.
CONOPS Engineer/System Engineer Required Task:
• Must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Dynamic interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate via voice and written correspondence.
• Appropriate Professional Discretion and interaction with various levels of leadership
• Demonstrated Ability to operate and maintain SSN/SSGN/SSBN Imaging Suite.
CONOPS Engineer/System Engineer Desired Skills:
• Power Point experience, (to include slide development)
• Adobe Photo Shop or Paint Shop Pro experience
• Expertise in Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination, particularly in ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) systems
• Other ASW community experience (CUS/ACB)
• Responsive training background (MTT, PDT)
CONOPS Engineer/System Engineer Additional Requirements:
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance. Must have clearance to begin work
• Minimum of 6 year's Navy experience as an Imaging System operator and maintainer
• Perform Test and Evaluation efforts for system level testing
• Develop and maintain test documentation and procedures
• Troubleshoot hardware and software related bugs
• Verify and Validate bug resolution
• Manage hardware and software configurations
• Install and maintain hardware and software
• Troubleshoot hardware and software related bugs
• Verify and Validate bug resolution

• Task-driven with ability to work independently
