Work Schedule: 

Part-time, .80 FTE, day shift. Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:30am - 5:30pm, no weekend rotation required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking an Athletic Trainer - Physician Extender to:

• Perform appropriate medical history and physical examination on patients.  
• Assist in care coordination by placing orders for surgical case requests, diagnostic imaging, interventional radiology procedures, and other referrals under the direction of the attending provider
• Assist in care coordination by placing orders for surgical case requests, diagnostic imaging, interventional radiology procedures, and other referrals under the direction of the attending provider
• Provide initial rehabilitation exercises and the instruction, demonstration, and feedback on patient performance of the exercises as directed by the attending physician.
• Application, adjustment, and education of appropriate use of orthopedic durable medical equipment such as crutches, braces, and splints to provide optimized comfort for patient.
• Coordinate and review internal and external patient medical records and imaging prior to appointment to ensure optimal patient care and clinic efficiency.
• Assist or perform patient care procedures including, but not limited to, wound care, dressing changes, suture and splint removal.
• Assist with in-clinic joint aspiration and wound culture preparation which includes ordering appropriate labs, labeling specimen, and securing transportation of specimen to laboratory
