Full-Time | Saturday & Sunday | 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (12-Hour Shifts)

At Fairfax Radiology Centers (FRC), outstanding MRI care takes a team. As an MRI Tech Aide, you'll play a vital role in helping our technologists deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate care while ensuring patients feel comfortable from the moment they arrive until their exam is complete.

Working in our dedicated outpatient MRI Center in Arlington/Ballston, you'll support MRI Technologists with patient preparation, room setup, order clarification, and patient flow. Your attention to detail, teamwork, and caring approach help keep the day running smoothly while making a meaningful difference for every patient we serve.

What You'll Do

As an MRI Tech Aide, you'll support both patients and MRI Technologists to ensure every exam is safe, efficient, and patient-centered.

Support Patient Care
  • Welcome patients and explain MRI procedures with professionalism and compassion
  • Prepare patients for their MRI examinations
  • Assist patients with safe transfers on and off the MRI table
  • Ensure patient comfort, modesty, and safety throughout their visit
  • Start IV access prior to contrast-enhanced MRI examinations (when qualified)
Support MRI Operations
  • Prepare MRI suites for scheduled examinations
  • Maintain an organized, efficient imaging environment
  • Assist technologists with patient flow throughout the day
  • Help keep exam schedules running smoothly and efficiently
Coordinate Imaging Orders
  • Communicate with physician offices to clarify MRI orders
  • Verify exam details including body part, laterality, and contrast requirements
  • Request updated or corrected physician orders when needed
  • Help ensure exams are accurately scheduled and performed
Deliver Exceptional Service
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered service throughout each interaction
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and coworkers
  • Support a positive, collaborative team environment
  • Maintain patient confidentiality while following HIPAA and organizational policies
What You'll BringRequired
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current BLS certification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
Preferred
  • One or more years of experience in a medical or radiology office
  • Experience starting IVs
  • Experience as a:
    • Medical Assistant
    • MRI or CT Tech Aide
    • Emergency Department Technician
    • EMT or Paramedic
    • Nursing Student (after completion of first clinical rotation)

Compensation

Based on your qualifications and experience, the compensation range for this position is:

$20.40 - $27.60 per hour

Placement within the range is determined by factors including experience, education, certifications, and internal equity.
