Job description

Job Overview

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Utilize various imaging modalities including MRI, CT, ultrasound, and general radiology.
  • Engage in direct patient care within your specialty approximately 20-30% of the time, which includes:
    • Advising on the selection of appropriate imaging techniques for staging, treatment response, and monitoring.
    • Designing, approving, and executing image-guided diagnostic or therapeutic plans.
    • Participating in multidisciplinary tumor boards covering areas such as lung, liver, genitourinary, breast, neuro-oncology, and general cases.
  • Ensure all clinical documentation and reporting meet accuracy, completeness, and compliance standards, including the correct application of CPT codes and diagnoses.
Administrative & Leadership Duties
  • Provide comprehensive administrative leadership for the Imaging Health Care Group, executing responsibilities efficiently while showcasing strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Supervise departmental staff, assess potential new hires, and ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and organizational policies.
  • Address patient inquiries, credentialing issues, peer review processes, and communications from governmental bodies in collaboration with facility leadership.
  • Serve as a member or leader on Imaging and VALBHS-wide committees focused on peer review, accreditation, and quality improvement initiatives as designated by the Chief of Staff's Office.
  • Promote a culture of safety, respect, and open dialogue, empowering all team members to identify challenges and propose solutions without fear of repercussions.
  • Advocate for a department-wide commitment to veteran-centered care, motivating staff to maintain the highest service standards for those who have served.
Education & Training

Act as a Radiology Educator for medical students, resident physicians, and fellows, contributing to the academic objectives of the department.
