Job description

2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday 3:00PM-1:30AM

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Audit and monitor quality requirements in accordance with the company quality assurance policies and specifications.
  • Conduct inspections on products at all stages of the manufacturing process.
    • Document and report inspection findings and results in the BMS via Task entries. 
    • Perform mechanical, dimensional and visual/cosmetic inspection of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies as per Inspection Plans and Specification Requirements.
  • Read and interpret specifications and Engineering prints.
  • Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required.
  • Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions.  Communicate/interface with:
    • Product Managers to ensure product is in compliance with Specifications.
    • Purchasing to address/resolve findings on supplied products.
    • Area Supervisors on non-conformities that have originated in their area of responsibility.
  • Document information on the computer in various databases and other internal programs.
  • Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.

Experience, Skills & Education:

  • Experience Level: minimum of two years in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Must possess basic writing skills
  • Understanding and use of basic measuring tools (Calipers, micrometer & angle gage) preferred.
  • Competent in use of K&N's Business Management System (BMS)
  • Previous ISO 9001 experience helpful.
  • Previous Quality Assurance experience helpful.
  • Must be competent in use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Windows software.

  • Must be detail oriented and well organized.
  • Must demonstrate ability to simultaneously handle multiple duties, prioritize, follow through on all tasks and projects, and meet pre-determined deadlines with limited supervision
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers and in a 1-on-1 or team situation
  • Consistently demonstrate a positive company image to K&N customers
