As ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) FA & Reliability Engineer, you are part of a team composed by Test Engineers, Product & Production engineers, Assembly & Packaging engineers, Supply Chain and Project Managers. Who we are

The Test Solutions team is part of imec’s Design and System Engineering R&D department. Whether it concerns small volumes or mass production, our mission is to always give our clients access to the best test houses worldwide. In collaboration with our internal experts and external partners, we continuously explore the latest evolutions within ASIC testing approaches. Our team has exposure to all market segments, including consumer, medical, automotive and space. We work with the most advanced technologies from mixed-signal ASICs, memories and image sensors.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate electrical, thermal and mechanical characteristics of ASICs, to determine root cause of failure.
  • Analyze failure reports and recommend corrective action to prevent reoccurrence of problems.
  • Support new processes and product transfer.
  • Collaborate with the other imec teams and external subcontractors to take a technical challenge from problem identification to final solution.
  • Drive failure analysis investigations on parts complained by customer and in-house rejects.
  • Plan and improve failure analysis capability and capacity continuously.
  • Improve overall product quality and drive to zero customer returns.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Electronics or Physics, preferably with 8+ years of relevant experience in FA & Reliability engineering.
  • Good knowledge of failure analysis techniques: microsectioning, FIB, SEM, SAM, X-ray, Hot Spot analysis (EMMI, OBirch, liquid crystals...).
  • Knowledge of the MIL STD for automotive, space, medical and industrial ASIC qualification flows is indispensable.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Good communication skills (English is the working language).
  • Flexible to travel (on average 1 week/month).
